And next comes the Main Program.
This month's program was a series of
mini-workshops led by Guild Members. Meeting attendees walked around to the
seven "stations" where each of the sessions were conducted.
|
Jeanne Brenner taught How to Make a Quilt Sleeve. Her written
instructions are available at this pdf
file.
IMG_4824.JPG
|
Barbara Ahlbrandt instructed how to make the Dresden Plate block.
IMG_4826.JPG
|
Esther Weiner demonstrated blanket-stitch appliqué.
IMG_4828.JPG
|
Dorothy Barr showed how much embellishment added to quilts.
IMG_4830.JPG
|
IMG_4831.JPG
|
Sharon Pollock told listeners how to make a quilt from a picture -- basically,
having a print shop enlarge one's drawing to the desired size; if
multiple big pages are needed to be printed, tape them together.
|
Sharon also shared a nifty trick for quilt design transfer for quilting.
Using a ball-point pen, she traces the design onto "Glad Press &
Seal", places that on the quilt (and it can be relocated several times if
you don't like the first location), and then sews.
IMG_4833.JPG
|
Marilyn Kelley demonstrated making a Cathedral Windows version of the folded
pinwheel block.
IMG_4835.JPG
|
IMG_4836.JPG
|
Marsha Walper showed how to add accents to a quilt by using piping.
