Field trip to the Levy County Quilting Museum with lunch at the Suwanee Belle and then a stop at Busy Bobbins Quilt Shop in Chiefland.
Enjoy a nice bus ride to the museum where we will see a collection of Sieglinde Schoen Smith’s quilts including the Mother Earth and Her Children quilt that won Best of Show at the International Quilt Show in Houston, Texas in 2006. The museum also houses other quilts from local artists as well as quilts and other handmade items for purchase. (NOTE: They do not accept credit cards or debit cards. Admission is free).
After a morning at the museum, we will enjoy a scrumptious lunch at the Suwanee Belle Landing in Old Towne, FL. This restaurant is off the beaten path and overlooks the historical Suwanee River (meal not included in trip fee). After lunch we will be stopping at the Busy Bobbin Quilt Shop in Chiefland. Here we will be able to shop and enjoy Busy Bobbin’s hospitality. They will have a demo of one of their favorite techniques and who know what treasure we might find. After that we will recover as we ride back to Tallahassee.
