This year there were nominations for two very worthy candidates. The committee consisted of Janet Taylor, Loui Tope and myself. We met over coffee and discussed each candidate at length, and finally decided to present the award to the longest-standing member, one who has been a force in the guild for many years.
As described in the nomination form, this person is an accomplished quilter who continues to take classes to enhance her own knowledge and skills, and generously shares what she has learned by teaching classes for the guild. She has also taught at Georgia Baptist and Toccoa for as many as 150 participants. Her quilts have appeared not only in the guild shows, but also at LeMoyne and Gadsden art centers. On top of her quilting skills, this person has also served the guild in many capacities, including being President twice.
Who is she? If you haven’t guessed yet, she is…..
